Let's Help Save the Tigers!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of my subscribers, new and old! Thanks to those that have shared us on social media and to those of you who have mentioned us to friends in passing. You have helped my little business to grow so much, and I thank you for that.
With so much going on in the tiger world these days, we thought it was a good time to bring awareness to what is really going on. It’s not about drama TV, but the fact that these beautiful, special creatures are slipping away. Their numbers are critical, roughly less that 4,000 left in the wild. There are more tigers in captivity than in the wild.
What can you and your kids do to help?
Spread the word! Most people aren’t even aware of the problem. I know when I started writing Francis Meets Maya, I was shocked at the numbers!
You can purchase products who’s proceeds go towards a good cause…books, hats, t-shirts, stuffed animals, etc.
Be a responsible tourist and don’t fund places that exploit tigers and their cubs.
If possible, donate to a reputable charity towards conservation efforts, such as anti-poaching campaigns, habitat protection, breeding programs, laws to help stop the sale of tiger parts, the stop of trophy hunting, and the cooperation of different countries coming together to help make a difference…these are the things being done through the efforts of these programs.
OR, create a fundraiser then donate the proceeds…Make bracelets, painted rocks, pins, etc. to sell. Have a bake sale, a garage sale, or something similar. You get the idea! Your kids will love knowing they had a hand in helping a very good cause.
Send mail using "Save Vanishing Species" stamps. Proceeds go towards conservation efforts!
Did you notice the tiger postage stamp this month? We sent all our letters in the United States with a "Save Vanishing Species" tiger stamp from the USPS. By purchasing these stamps, we helped to support efforts to create a future in which the tiger can once again thrive!
I hope everyone downloaded the FunSheets this month. Please send us photos of the masks that you made…we would love to see them!
Thank you for supporting our letters!
Until next month,
Jamie & Francis
